Golf Course Manager – Golf Course

Summary
Supervise, plan and coordinate activities and operations of the Pro Shop.
Essential Functions
Make recommendations and/or establish procedures and responsibilities for the proper
management and operation of the golf pro shop and snack bar concession according to established policy.
Supervise, plan, prioritize, assign and review the work of staff responsible for the golf pro shop and snack bar and act as special events coordinator.
Make recommendations concerning staffing needs and hiring employees.
Coordinate all golf course tournaments, leagues, programs and other special events. Oversee all golf instruction programs
Responsible for the promotion and advertising of the golf course.
Respond to and help resolve all citizen inquiries and complaints.
Prepare purchase requisitions for Pro Shop inventory and forward to the Golf Course Superintendent for preparation, signing and forwarding to City Hall.
Collect greens fees, cart rental and golf course money and oversee proceeds from the pro shop and snack bar. Reconciling receipts and making daily bag deposits at the bank, for pickup by the Finance Department
Monitor revenues and expenditures to ensure sound fiscal control.
Responsible for stocking the City’s merchandise and maintaining adequate supply at competitive pricing.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work may vary depending on the season.

Limited travel is expected for this position

Required Education and Experience
- Three or more years’ golf course Pro Shop management experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Five or more years’ Pro Shop experience.
- Recreational related degree
- Previous supervisory experience.
