Essential Functions
Prepare jury and non-jury court dockets and notify all concerned parties regarding court dates for pending cases.
Collect fines, bonds, etc., and answer questions as necessary from individuals conducting business with the court, entering amount collected into the computer.
Prepare bench warrants for individuals for non-payment and for individuals who do not show for scheduled court appearances. When bench warrants are paid, send written notification to P.D. for the warrant recall.
Prepare and submit appropriate documentation to the Department of Public Safety, regarding failure of defendants to appear on personal recognizance bonds and drivers’ license matters and failure to pay fines and costs assessed by Court.
Cooperate with attorneys, individuals scheduled for court appearance, etc., regarding scheduling and rescheduling court dates.
Relieve cashier as scheduled or needed. Receive and record revenue into the computer system and other cashier related duties.
Assist City Clerk in her absence. This includes but is not limited to animal tags, business licenses, citizen inquires, etc.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift, bend and stoop.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours are consistent with City Hall hours.
Travel
Limited travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent experience to adequately perform the essential functions.
Preferred Education and Experience
- High school diploma
- Two years’ court experience.
