PT Library Aide
Summary
The position is responsible for repairing books and other materials, checking in and out materials, shelving books and providing assistance to the public or library staff.
Essential Functions
Repair books that are old or damaged according to established procedures.
Prepare books for bindery and maintain records on materials sent to be bound or rebound.
Check in and out books and other patron related duties.
Responsible for all audiovisual equipment.
Empty book drops, check in returned books, materials and re-shelve items.
Process all books and periodicals.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some shelving is required. This would require the ability to lift and shelve books, bend and stoop.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Monday through Thursday 2-7, Friday 1:30-5, and some Saturdays. Subject to change as needed.
Travel
Limited travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- One year library, office or equivalent experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associates degree in a related field
- Two or more years of related experience.
